Getting There — Trailhead & Parking

The Bird Ridge Trailhead is conveniently located just a short drive south of Anchorage on the scenic Seward Highway (AK-1), which winds along the dramatic Turnagain Arm.

Head south on the Seward Highway. You’ll drive approximately 25-30 miles, passing through the small community of Indian. Keep an eye out for mile marker 100. The Bird Ridge Trailhead will be on your left (east) side of the highway, clearly marked with a large Alaska State Parks sign. It’s impossible to miss the prominent ridge towering above the highway.
